THE CAUSE

Almost everyone knows someone who has diabetes.

An estimated 23.6 million people in the United States—7.8 percent of the population—have diabetes, a serious, lifelong and life changing condition. Of those, 17.9 million have been diagnosed, and 5.7 million have not yet been diagnosed. In 2007, about 1.6 million people ages 20 or older were diagnosed with diabetes. About 1 in every 400 children and adolescents has diabetes. 215,000, or 0.26% of all people under 20 have diabetes.

These statistics aren't just numbers, they are real people. Adults and children all over the world are suffering with this silent, deadly disease.

A New Leaf for Diabetes was created to help change that.

The vision, inspiration and efforts of Laura Bee, jewelry designer and mother of a son with type one diabetes, A new leaf for diabetes was created as a symbol of hope.

Using the uplifting design of a single, simple leaf to spread the word about diabetes, A New Life For Diabetes hopes tp help bring an end to the suffering of millions living with this chronic condition.

Our mission and goal is to build a great public awareness of diabetes, to educate and through our sales, raise and donate the necessary funds for critical research that is needed for a promising cure.  We're already reached out  and are working with the ADA and JDRF, discussing our goals and their needs to find out where we can help the most.

Through our symbol a new beginning we are committed to spread our message of hope one leaf at a time to help find a cure.
